Nevena Didović

I am a painter based in Belgrade with a formal education in art. The faculty of fine arts in Belgrade. In finishing my studies I released my sensitivity and the feeling of tenderness. My ultimate inspiration was in textures and colors of nature. That subtle movement of soft forms is a very strong phenomenon. The encounter of opposites in nature such as its cruelty and tenderness strongly inspired me to paint.

The overemphasized tactility I feel as I observe the landscape shifts my focus from the visible to the inner. Because of such a strong experience, the feeling of tenderness becomes dominant and the painting goes more and more abstract. The whole atmosphere of creation, including the tactile moment of the painting itself, holding the brush, thinking, leaving a mark on the canvas, modifying the form, is all too intense and exciting.

Seen from the observer, the painting aims to relax the visitor, to introduce him to a new world, which he had not understood until then.

The large painting format contributes to the ambiance of the space where the paintings are located, while the monochrome approach in the painting represents colors in all their splendor.
